The 48V 15Ah e-bike battery from HNF Battery is a high-capacity lithium-ion pack made for rear-rack mounting on standard 48V electric bikes. Housed in a tough ABS+PC fireproof case rated UL94-V0, it offers solid protection and a 720Wh cell setup to give commuters and casual riders the range and reliability they need.

Its three-position key-lock switch makes power control simple: ON turns on the power, OFF locks the battery while keeping the output active, and LOCK shuts off power and lets you remove the battery from the rack for charging or indoor storage. Two keys are included.

 Extended Range for Daily Riding

At 720Wh, the 48V 15Ah pack provides substantial range across a variety of riding conditions:

– Approximately 60 to 90 km on flat urban roads at a steady pedal-assist pace
– 40 to 60 km on mixed terrain with moderate gradient changes
– Sustained output for high-drain 48V mid-drive and hub motors without voltage sag under load
– Reduced charging frequency for daily commuters covering 20 to 40 km per trip

The higher 15Ah capacity is particularly valuable for longer commutes or cargo e-bikes where a smaller 10Ah pack requires mid-route top-ups.

 

 Intelligent BMS Protection

The integrated battery management system protects both the cells and the connected motor controller under all operating conditions:

– **Overcharge protection** — cell voltage capped at 4.2V per cell during charging
– **Over-discharge cutoff** — output disconnected at approximately 2.75V per cell to preserve cycle life
– **Overcurrent protection** — limits discharge current under motor stall or high-load conditions
– **Short-circuit protection** — responds within milliseconds to terminal fault events
– **Temperature monitoring** — reduces charge acceptance at elevated ambient temperatures

 

 Housing and Key Lock Design

The outer casing is manufactured from ABS+PC blend rated UL94-V0 for flame resistance, with reinforced ribbing along the vertical panels for structural rigidity under rack vibration. The three-position key switch locks the battery securely to the rack in both ON and OFF positions, preventing theft and accidental removal while riding. The LOCK position cuts the power circuit and releases the latch, allowing the battery to be removed for indoor charging via the top-mounted IEC C13 charging port.

 

 Charging and Storage

The battery charges via any compatible 48V lithium charger using a standard IEC C13 connector. Charge time from empty to full is approximately 4 to 5 hours with a standard 3A charger. The BMS terminates charging automatically at full voltage.

For storage, keep the pack at approximately 50% state of charge in a dry environment between 10°C and 25°C. Avoid prolonged storage below 0°C or above 40°C.
